I promised yesterday to provide some interesting facts about Rovinj and why it should be visited.
Of course, like most of other visitors and tourists I love that city because it is located on the coast. It’s old, small, friendly, filled with history and arts. It is hard to say in which period Rovinj developed: stories vary from 1st and 5th century. One of the interesting facts is that old city-center was an island until 1763. From then, old city-center is a peninsula. Very small peninsula with very tight but high colorful and stone houses. Another interesting fact is that one of the 22 small islands in Rovinj’s archipelago was bought from Japanese consul in Trieste in 1890 (today we call it Red Island).

History of Rovinj
One of the biggest reason why I love that city is the exhibition in the open. Since 1965. on the old street Grisia in Rovinj, many artists present their works. Grisia has always been known by bizarre and provocative appearance of some individual artist, not just a souvenirs for the tourists. The main event named „Grisia“ is organized on a Sunday at August every year since 1967. The „Grisia“ event is getting bigger and bigger, so now we have the „Grisia Junior“ too (in the Garzotto street). I’m hoping that one day it will be also in Montalbano – and that’s the street where our „gallery-to-be“ is. (more info about Grisia) The „Artistic colony of Rovinj“ is the oldest artistic colony in Croatia, working continuously for 40 years there.
Also, for the second year in a row, Rovinj was voted to be the best decorated town on the Adriatic coast. No wonder why. And the climate is perfect in any time of the year.
Anyway, now you know why we are thinking about how to start our little photo gallery there!

Oh, I just realized that I didn’t make a post for 20 days! Time flies … fast.
We are still in Rovinj on our vacation (since 19th this month). Two weeks ago, we sold our apartment and now we got some money (and still the same amount of mortgages). Yeah! Right now we have a lot of plans, but first we have to move from our old flat into rented one.
Our apartment is around 50 minutes driving on a rush hour to a city-center where my husband works. That is around 2 hours a day that he spends on his traveling.
Now, we are searching for an apartment in city-center so he should be able to walk there (I’ll carry him if that’s what it takes!*), our car will be at my mother’s parking place and he will be at home within 10-15 minutes walking distance!
For now we got 2 apartments to see, both in city-center, around 100 square meters for 600€ ($848) per month. One of the ideas was: rent the biggest possible apartment (100-120 square meters) in city-center with a high ceiling (3,5 meters), and one of the rooms of around 30 square meters (at least) and use this room for a photo studio to lease, since we got all the equipment (soft boxes, strobes, photo backgrounds…). This idea is still here, but we can’t find an apartment that is not furnished and has one big room… all apartments here have many small rooms.
My sales are doing quite good; considering that I didn’t upload anything since August 30th. I can make 60-80$ a day and I hope that I’ll draw some new stuff soon!
Anyway, I’m creating and uploading new Photoshop brushes, vectors and other useful stuff for free download on my graphics-illustrations blog. I’m doing it in totally weird circumstances! Oh, my - if you only can see that 
(right now I’m uploading on an open window, because if I close it - the connection will be lost)

Since late August, we weren’t home. I’m actually very happy about it, because we have terrible neighbors and we don’t like the place where we live.
I didn’t work much on my goal for a 8 days, and I’m uncomfortable with it.
I was so happy on our trip (and still am) so I’ve created the Photoshop brushes when we were in Nancy - great little city in France. I wish I could do more, but I’m not used to work on a notebook! Not to mention this slow Vodafone so called 3G mobile connection!
Right now we are in Austrian Alps (Kitzbuhel), traveling back home. It’s cold, foggy and little bit scary!
Can’t wait to draw some illustrations and try to sell books on illustrations at my amazon store or maybe t-shirt or tote bag at cafepress.
